April 14, 2009 - Karen Bean - President and Co-Founder of the Tara Bean Foundation (TBF), John L. Sullivan, MD - Vice Provost for Research at UMass Medical School (UMMS), Craig C. Mello, PhD and Nobel Laureate at UMMS, Margery Piercey - Vice President of TBF, and Lizabeth Rombousek - Clerk and Co-Founder of TBF. 

April 14, 2009 - Anna Y. Zinovyeva, postdoctoral student researching potential anti-cancer drugs, has been selected as the inaugural Fellow of the two-year post-doctoral research Fellowship in RNAi Translational Medicine funded by the Tara Bean Foundation.  


June 2, 2008 - Tara Bean Foundation Board Members, Margery L. Piercey (left) and Karen L. Bean (right) present a check for $125,000 to Dr. Oguz Cataltepe, Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center to support a research program that will search for a new means of early detection of brain tumors and cerebralvascular malformations.

The 2008 TARA BEAN DISTINCTION AWARD was presented to Governor Deval Patrick by Dr. Craig C. Mello, Nobel Laureate and 2007 recipient of the TARA BEAN DISTINCION AWARD on February 9, 2008 at our VALENTINE'S GALA.

Proceeds to benefit UMass Medical School, UMass Memorial Medical Center
